Country Meadows is a close-knit community of 56 homes.  With a breathtaking view of the gorgeous North Carolina mountains and a focus on our residents, we are the perfect size community; not too big but not too small.  About half our residents live in smaller, easy-to-maintain "summer homes."  These homes are typically 1 bedroom and work well as seasonal residences.  The remainder of our homes are slightly larger (2 bedroom - 2 bath floor plans) and perfect for residents who want to down-size, enjoy the simple life, and make Franklin their home.  To help our residents enjoy their time in Franklin we take care of mowing and trimming all the lawns and maintaining the common areas, including a clubhouse where there are regular community events.  You will typically find us gathering in the clubhouse on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day.  We also host a "going-away" party in the fall for our seasonal, "migratory" residents. Then of course there's the ever popular Tuesday morning coffee.  The clubhouse is a favorite place to congregate, outfitted with a lending library, puzzles, outdoor patio, outdoor fire pit, and an open-air porch with swings and rocking chairs.  The community is just a short 6 minute drive to downtown Historic Franklin, 1 minute to the Ruby Cinema Movie Theatre, 2 minutes to the Smoky Mountain Center for The Performing Arts, and 2 minutes to the Super Ingles grocery store.  Franklin is designated as a Appalachian Trail community. Its quaint downtown has restaurants, shops, breweries, the Little Tennessee River Green Way, as well as seasonal festivals.   Macon County has beautiful mountains, hiking, camping, historic sites, gem mining, waterfalls and friendly people.
